The Drive

We designed the new ASX for everyday adventures. It’s easy to drive, easy to park and with an electronically controlled driving system, it offers superb roadholding in the most demanding of conditions.

ALL WHEEL CONTROL (AWC) 4WD

Outstanding roadholding

The advanced driving system was created using technologies we’ve been developing over many years. An electronically controlled series of clutches direct torque from the front axle to the rear axle when slip is detected. Active Stability Control analyses the vehicle’s motion and identifies any unstable movement. It then automatically distributes torque and braking power to the left or right wheels to maintain stability. The result is better cornering, stability, and handling.

Greater traction when you need it

Enhance traction and stability further with the Drive Mode Selector switch on the centre console. Just press it until the mode you want appears in the Multi-Information Display on the dash.

Take the high road

The body shape of the ASX has been designed so it can approach ground that slopes steeply upwards. The shape also allows it to come down off sloping ground too.

PADDLE SHIFTERS

Easy gear change

Sporty F1-style paddle shifters on the steering column mean you can change gears with a simple press. So your hands stay on the steering wheel and you stay more in control.

CRUISE CONTROL

Easier long distance driving

Cruise Control allows you to automatically maintain your car's speed without keeping your foot on the accelerator pedal. This means more relaxed driving on longer journeys. To release it, simply press the brake pedal.

Exterior

A chunky grille and lamps set further out gives the car a striking new face. Sleek sides and alloy wheels complete the overall look. Why blend in when you can stand out from the crowd?

DYNAMIC SHIELD

A fusion of protection and performance

With a new upper grille and bumper, the front of the ASX has even stronger SUV features. But it's not just about looks. The front incorporates the DYNAMIC SHIELD, a unique design which offers greater protection for pedestrians and passengers. And the sloping hood makes it easier to judge where the corners of the car are, so getting in and out of parking spots is even easier.

HI-TECH LED HEADLAMPS

Better lights at the front and back

At the front, highly efficient LED headlamps, daytime running lamps and fog lamps have been placed further out to illuminate more of the road with intensive white light. At the rear, a new T-shaped tail lamp, LED stop lamp and turn lamp (indicator) offer better visibility for cars behind.

RED DIAMOND COLOUR

A richer, deeper red

The ASX is available in a range of dynamic colours, including the new 6-layer Red Diamond colour which has a richer, deeper finish.

POWER PANORAMIC SUNROOF

Don't miss the scenery

The panoramic roof floods the interior with light. It also means when you're on an adventure, you won't miss those breathtaking views. To enhance the cabin further and create a more calming interior, the edge around the panoramic roof is illuminated at night with soft LED lighting.

18-INCH ALLOY WHEELS

Get the sporty feel

The ASX is now available with new design 18-inch alloy wheels. Alloys not only look sporty, the hub is wider than conventional wheels so there's less rubber between you and the road. This means you get more precise steering and better grip in both the dry and wet.

For a compact SUV, the ASX has a surprising amount of head and legroom – not only up front, but also for back seat passengers. Touches of luxury and on-board technology will make every journey a pleasure.

SMARTPHONE LINKED DISPLAY AUDIO (SDA)

Keeping you connected

A larger centre panel houses the Smartphone Linked Display Audio system (SDA). This in-car infotainment hub is better than ever before. It now has an 8-inch display screen, It’s also the centre for audio and journey status information, such as energy consumption and drive range. And if that wasn’t enough, SDA also supports Apple CarPlay™ through your iPhone that gives you smart access to Apple Music, Apple Maps, Messages and more through the SDA touchscreen and your voice with Siri.

BOOT SPACE

Ready to carry anything

At 406 litres*, the boot space is huge compared to competitors. The easy-opening tailgate is wide enough to make loading even the bulkiest item simple.

FLEXIBLE 60:40 REAR SEAT

For extra long loads

The rear seat has a 60:40 split. In other words, a small section can be folded down flat. This allows you to carry bicycles, bodyboards or other extra-long items in the boot, while still leaving seating space for passengers.

Seats have been designed for maximum support. They're available in leather or a new hardwearing soft fabric in a black/grey finish. You can also choose to have an electronically adjustable driver’s seat and heated front seats.
